Charlie Otis Bray, 91, of Raleigh, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016.

Charlie was born in Danville, Virginia to the late John Robert and Mannie Rachel Bray. Charlie served his Country during WWII in the United States Army. He was the owner, operator of Bray Supplies for many years in Roanoke Rapids.

He was an avid coon hunter, receiving many awards over the years.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Bray; his daughter, Barbara B. Westbrook and her husband, Jimmy, of Rolesville; his granddaughters, Melissa Bray Smith and her husband, Brian, of Roanoke Rapids, and Whitney Nicole Tolbert of Rolesville; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jeri Branham of Sunset Beach, Dot Dolinger and her husband, Bobby, of Fredricksburg, VA, and Nita Graham of Danville, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

Interment will be on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in Westlawn Garden of Memory in Winston Salem, NC with Military Rites.
